The Best Worst Day

Dec 30, 2020

Have you ever had one of the worst and best days of your life simultaneously?

Not sure what I mean? Let me explain.

One of the biggest fears of an inspirational speaker and workshop facilitator is when her material starts to sound stale and repetitive. That happened to me around the beginning of 2017, and I worried that you would feel the same way.

I prayed for new material … but it didn’t come.

I got more worried, so I started begging God, the Universe and any Higher Power that was listening …

”Please send me new material! PLEASE! I don’t want to bore my audience!”

After eight months of angst and negativity, what I like to call stinkin’ thinkin’, I got my answer. Under the category of be careful what you wish for, here’s what happened.

On August 28, 2017, I was diagnosed with something called a stage IV pressure ulcer.

The main treatment?

Immediate, strict bed rest … for a looooooong time.

CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP! As often happens when one receives crushing news, my world changed in an instant.

The worst part was that I was responsible for my own injury. Years of denial about my weight gain was a major, contributing factor.

Here I was, Little Miss Inspiration, preaching about living your dream life by being your truest, best self and I’d torpedoed my life with some seriously unhealthy, lifelong habits.

Talk about humiliating. I’d become the poster child for the Imposter Syndrome.

Now, do you wanna know the best part?

Remember what I was begging for months before my diagnosis? New material.

WELL, I GOT IT.

Just not in the way I wanted or expected, but that’s how life sometimes works, doesn’t it?

So, following a three-year healing journey that’s been rich with life-changing experiences, I’m about to launch my very first digital course so I can share them with you.

Wanna know more?

Well, I’ll tell you … in next week’s email … so stay tuned!

For now, I wish you the happiest and healthiest of new years, and I look forward to sharing an epic journey with you in 2021.

All the best to you,
Andrea
